Steam VR / HTC Vive

The head-mounted display created in a cooperation between Valve and HTC,

which is called Steam VR and HTC Vive, is the development in Valve's Steam product chain

to which also the steamcontrollers and the steambox belong.

 

At the GDC2015 Valve presented publicly for the first time the Steam VR developer kit.

The headset uses the lighthouse technology developed by Valve so that an user

can be tracked in a freely accessible area. In addition two handheld controllers

have been developed based on the same Steam Controller.

 

The Steam VR headset is explicitly advertised for standing application.
